CONVENTION COMMITTEE 2011-2013

The mission of the ABMA Convention Committee is to plan, promote, and deliver an Annual Convention tailored to member needs, including a Suppliers' Display and appropriate networking opportunities to give members a chance to meet each other and exchange ideas and doing so within the Board-approved budget. The Vice President will serve as Chair of this Committee.

FINANCE COMMITTEE 2011-2013

ABMA's Finance Committee shall prepare and present to the Board of Directors an Annual Budget, monitor the Association's investment decisions, direct and review an annual audit as well as perform other duties as may be requested by the Board of Directors.

MEMBERSHIP COMMITTEE 2011-2013

The mission of the ABMA Membership Committee is to encourage eligible companies to join ABMA and to oversee membership retention efforts. The Committee makes suggestions, observations, and recommendations about Membership activities to the Board of Directors. It maintains contact with eligible prospective and new members through correspondence and personal solicitation.

PUBLIC RELATIONS COMMITTEE 2011-2013

The mission of the ABMA Public Relations Committee is to create a strong image for the Brush, Broom and Mop industry in support of its member companies by: Developing new markets, expanding existing markets; and stimulating interest in ABMA among potential customers, members and the press. One tool is the Association's webpage for which the Committee has creative and maintenance responsibility.

SAFETY & STANDARDS COMMITTEE 2011-2013

The mission of the ABMA Safety & Standards Committee is threefold:

1. Recommend changes to existing standards;
2. Review proposed new standards; and
3. Develop means to assist Members in coping with their product liability problems. It advises members of new developments affecting the industry. Maintains liaisons with other industry organizations and standards development committees. Interfaces with the Product Liability Prevention and Defense Group and other coalitions seeking tort reform.

It is preferred that Committee members have a familiarity with standards writing and an engineering background.

STATISTICAL COMMITTEE 2011-2013

The Statistical Committee helps determine what surveys, studies, and other activities are helpful to Members in the conduct of their businesses. The Committee also functions to help encourage Membership participation in those surveys, studies and other activities in an attempt to add value. While it reviews existing statistical activities for content and value, the Committee does not have access to individual Members' confidential figures submitted in any Association survey.
