The American Brush Manufacturers Association submitted a letter to the United States Trade Representative (USTR) on June 4 outlining many of the harmful effects of the recent tariffs to US Manufacturers.

The letter states the recent trade war is having a negative effect on US Manufacturers and works to make them less competitive and forcing them to make difficult choices, such as:

Raise Prices - increasing costs for consumers
Cut Costs - cutting workers or worker pay or new investment
Mitigate Costs - shifting manufacturing overseas losing US jobs
Outsource - give up and buy foreign made goods

It is especially worrisome that there have been tariffs proposed on items that aren't even produced in the US anymore which simply makes the US less competitive worldwide in the short term, allowing other suppliers to take the place of US manufacturers.
