GB Boucherie NV Wins The 2009
William A. Cordes Innovation Excellence Award
At the ABMA 92nd Annual Convention it was announced that ABMA had awarded its Fourth Annual William A. Cordes Innovation Excellence Award to Machines Boucherie NV, of Izegem, Belgium, for the company’s AFT-HH brush making machine. There were eight products nominated for this year’s award.
Machines Boucherie President Bart Boucherie thanked the ABMA for the award, adding, “ We at Boucherie are honored and grateful for the award. The award helps provide the stimulus to continue to develop this technology.”
The Boucherie AFT-HH brush making machine features significant reductions in material costs while also maintaining high output of up to 1,500 tufts per minute. Its design allows for dissimilar component technology and a fully recyclable product. The AFT-HH utilizes Boucherie’s patented anchorless technology.
The William Cordes Innovation Excellence Award recognizes outstanding innovation of manufactured products, components or services in the brush, broom, mop and roller industries. The award is named after William A. Cordes, who served as the association’s first president from 1917 to 1928.
The award serves as a reminder that all new and exciting endeavors have beginnings that connect with real people. Interested parties are encouraged to submit nominations to ABMA during any calendar year for consideration. All nominations must be readily available in the marketplace during the year in which they are to be considered.
Submissions for the 2010 Innovation Excellence Award are being accepted until December 1, 2009. Submission information is available here.
